Northern Iceland’s answer to the Blue Lagoon is blessedly smaller and more low-key than its southern counterpart. It’s also less hyped (a good thing) and a gorgeous place to soak in powder-blue, mineral-rich waters while enjoying the panorama. Also try one of two natural steam baths or grab a bite at the simple cafeteria (soup 1700kr). Arrive early or late to avoid tour groups.

It's 3km east of Reykjahlíð.
