Based outside Dalvík, this pioneering company specialises in ski touring, ski mountaineering, heliskiing, ice climbing, alpine climbing and other mountain-related activities. Fun fact: the name of the company's owner, Jökull Bergmann, translates as 'Glacier Mountainman' – so you know he found his calling. The company runs Arctic Heli Skiing (www.arcticheliskiing.com) and has four lodges dotted around the peninsula.
Its menu of ski-touring trips includes some brilliant options, such as four/six days exploring Tröllaskagi (260,000kr/340,000kr), but you can also opt for a sailing and skiing combo in the Westfjords, for example. The season runs from late February into June. Private guiding and courses also available.
