3 Day Magical North Iceland From Reykjavik: Akureyri & Myvatn Nature Baths

Day 1: Grabrok Crater, Hvitserkur, Akureyri and Dalvik Your 3 day tour starts with a morning Reykjavik pick up. From the capital you will hit the Ring Road as you start making your way up towards Akureyri the capital of the North. Your first stop will be at the Grabrok volcanic crater that was formed in an eruption over three thousand years ago where you will start your day with a short hike around the area. The area around Grabrok is very impressive, filled with lava fields and two neighboring craters. The perfect way to start your North Iceland adventure. Next you will head to Hvitserkur basalt stack. Located in a stunning fjord, standing in the water, Hvitserkur is a sight not soon forgotten! Now its time to add some flavor to your taste buds as you discover where the Icelandic Vikings got their power from with a visit to a famous local microbrewery for a short beer tasting tour before you make your way to Dalvik town where you will be spending the night. Day 2: Godafoss, Lake Myvatn, Dimmuborgir and Akureyri Your day starts with a drive to Godafoss waterfall named after the Norse gods. After admiring its beauty you will make your way to Lake Myvatn surrounded by stunning volcanic landscape. See Skutustadagigar pseudo craters as you travel around the lake and drink in all that this most valuable protect nature reserve of Iceland has to offer before continuing to Dimmborgir lava fields. Home to massive lava rock sculptures, pillars and caves, Dimmuborgir will certainly leave you feeling as though you are on another planet. En route to the famous Myvatn Nature Baths you will make stops at Viti Crater and Namaskard geothermal fields. At Myvatn you can have an optional relaxing bath in the natural geothermal baths of Myvatn, better known as the Blue Lagoon of the North for a small fee. After a full day of exploring the wonders of the North you will return to your hotel in Dalvik.  Day 3: Whale Watching, Glaumbaer Turf Farm & Reykjavik Your last day includes a whale watching tour to see the gentle giants of the North. After seeing the whales you will get the chance to do some sea angling on the way back to the harbor continued by a barbecue of today's catch. After your adventure at sea you will start making your way back to Reykjavik. On the way you will stop by Glaumbaer Turf Farm, nominated for a UNESCO World Heritage status. These historic turf houses are said to have been from the Age of the Settlements, the oldest one being built in the 18th century. Leaving Glaumbaer behind you will travel back to Reykjavik where your tour ends. You can expect to be back at around 8:00 pm.
