You can start and end the hike from tree points: Þórsmörk, Landmannalaugar and Skógar.

A very good starting point to hike the Laugavegur to Þórsmörk. • Landmannalaugar is a beautiful and unique place. It has a rare beauty not found anywhere else.  Colourful Rhyolite, a volcanic type of rock is common in the area and it brings varying colours to the land. You see mountains in the area with hints of green, gold, yellow, pink and red which constantly change as the sun rays pass over it. It is like no other place you have ever been to and is often described as feeling like you have landed on another world. It really is an experience you must experience in your lifetime.Landmannalaugar also has Geothermal water which the name derives from it means “The people’s pools”. So, do not forget to bring you swimsuit and a towel with you. It’s fabulous to relax in the natural pools especially after a long hike. • Þórsmörk. A good starting point for the popular hiking of Laugavegur, Fimmvörðuháls and many hiking trails in Þórsmörk. You can as well hike over to Fjallabak. • Þórsmörk  (Thor’s Valley) is a walley between three glaciers Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull and Tindafjallajökull.  A nature reserve which is very popular in Iceland for hiking. Þórsmörk in ins the highlands South of Iceland.The beauty of Þórsmörk lies in the amazing landscape, with walleys that are criss-crossed by glacier rivers, hiking trails are all over the place. It is possible to take short easy hikes and longer ones that are take you up to the glaciers or on top of the mountains. it is a landscape which takes your breath away. • Skógar. It is very popular to hike from Skógar to Þórsmörk.Hiking between the glaciers of Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. The hiking trail is called Fimmvörðuháls. • Skógar: The bus arrives at Skógar one time every day in the afternoon. It is a good starting or ending point for hike over Fimmvörðuháls which lies between Þórsmörk and Skógar. A beautiful day hike which lies between the two glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull part of the way.At Skógar  you can visit Skóga Museum, Skóga café and take a stroll on the the beach, which is a long black sand beach and visit Skógafoss.
