Gettó Gulyás

Top choice hungarian

in Erzsébetváros & the Jewish Quarter

This new spot is just about the best place to try pörkölt – what we call goulash (it's paprikás when you add sour cream) – with everything from chicken, venison and catfish to gizzards and roosters' testicles available. Add some savanyúság (pickled vegetables, from 480Ft) and you've got a feast. Gulyás in Hungary is a thickish beef soup (1200Ft).

Please note: 'ghetto' is what many in Budapest still call the Jewish Quarter. It is not considered pejorative here.
