New York Café

Top choice cafe in Erzsébetváros & the Jewish Quarter

Image by Jennifer Walker Lonely Planet

Considered the most beautiful cafe in the world when it opened in 1894, this neo-Renaissance-style place on the ground floor of the New York Palace Hotel has been the scene of many a literary gathering. Some say it lacks the warmth and erudite crowd of most traditional cafes, but the opulence and history will impress.

It's a great place for breakfast (buffet 7500Ft; 8am to 11am).
