Somewhere between rustic and luxurious, the North American–owned posada makes a great retreat. Seven cottages (some sleeping six) and five suites, all with stone walls, fireplaces, porches, hammocks and folk art, are set amid rambling gardens. Across the road stretches a lakeside resort with pool and bar. The restaurant is celebrated locally for its eggs benedict with blue corn tortillas.
The posada is 1.5km from the town dock. Catch a tuk-tuk (Q10) or hire a lancha over to the hotel's own dock.
