Stand Up Paddle Board Lesson and Fun Tour

This activity takes place out of Santa Cruz la Laguna, which is a 10 minute boat ride from Panajachel.  Santa Cruz is accessible only by boat.  You can get to Santa Cruz from Panajachel, Jaibalito, Tzununa, San Marcos or San Pedro.  This is an early morning activity so we recommend you stay in Santa Cruz.  If you aren't staying in Santa Cruz, please make sure you have time to eat breakfast and travel by boat to Santa Cruz. You should be at Stand Up Paddle Atitlan by 8:45 so that w can start the tour at 9:00am.  The winds will come by 11:30 so it is imperative that the tour starts on time since the calm water will only last so long in the morning.  If you don't have experience we will start the morning off with a quick lesson.  We go over the equipment, safety and important things to know when paddle boarding.  Once we get on the water, we will take some time to learn how to stand, turn and paddle properly.  This process roughly takes 20 - 30 minutes.  Once we have everyone paddling with confidence, we head out away from shore to get clear of the boats that are dangerous for paddle boarding.  Enjoy the peace and tranquility of paddling the open waters of Atitlan and take it the beautiful views all around you.  We will pass the Mayan village of Jaibalito as we head towards a small private bay that has many cliff jumping heights.  In this bay we take a small break to jump into the clear waters, swim, take pictures and try some SUP Yoga if you like.  I try to tailor the experience to my group every time so that they get what they want most.  After this we head back towards Santa Cruz and paddle close to shore that you can see up close the beautiful lakeside homes, local fishermen, and sunken foundations just below the surface of the water.  The tour concludes when we get back to Stand Up Paddle Atitlan.  I take pictures the whole time during the tour and make sure you get great shots to take home with you.  I fix up and post all the pictures to Dropbox and give my clients access to the folder.  Treat yourself to nice lunch at a local nearby restaurant or spend the day hanging out in Santa Cruz.  We will help out clients return to their hotels from Santa Cruz if needed.     You will paddle along some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, with Lake Atitlan as the foreground and volcanoes as the background. You have the opportunity to cliff-jump into the crystal clear waters, or just enjoy a swim and sun.
