Just 8km from Pointe-à-Pitre, Gosier is the biggest tourist spot in Guadeloupe. The hotels are packed close together and share a series of scalloped soft-sand coves, which make it an obvious spot for a family beach holiday.

The town center, about 1km away from hotel central, feels a little run-down and lacks the fine beaches found in the main hotel area, but it is more local in character. It also has a small but attractive beach and a good view across the water to Îlet du Gosier.

Guadeloupe Shore Excursion - Walking tour Pointe à Pitre

This tour will be in first part on foot, to make the visit of Pointe-à-Pitre. Departure from the cruise port of Pointe-à-Pitre, we will walk along the first lanes towards the famous "Spice Market" known for its varied scents of caribbean spices. Then, direction Saint John Perse Museum (discovery, history, photo stop). We will pass the majestic "St. Peter and St. Paul's Church" in the color of the Caribbean. Let's go to the mythical "Place de la Victoire" where is exposed the bust of the famous "Adolphe Sylvestre Félix Eboué. To finish this first part of our tour we will go to the site of the "Memorial Act" which is the largest Caribbean center of expressions and memory on the slave trade and slavery. We will take the van towards the town of Gosier which is located 6 minutes from the Memorial Act to discover the site of "Fort Fleur d'Epee" (Fortification built in the eighteenth century against the invasions of the English). You will discover a panoramic view of the bay of Gosier. Finally, to refresh you towards the beautiful beach of Datcha au Gosier. (Bathing stop: 1 hour)

Explore the protected sites of Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin where the richness and beauty of the fauna and flora will amaze you. This vast nature reserve, classified as a world biosphere reserve by Unesco since 1992, is closed by a 25 km long coral reef. It is full of surprising tropical animals and plant species.To introduce you to marine biology, your guide has chosen the richest and most serene sites. The monitors make participants aware of the rules of preservation and protection of the ecosystems encountered and the environment in general. The instructors will adapt to your level and will accompany you throughout your snorkeling tour to ensure your safety and answer your questions. You will be able to discover the shallow underwater life (0 to 3m) in all quietude. All the material for the snorkeling is provided (fins, mask, snorkel, shorty combination, inflatable boards, waistcoats, buoys, identification plates of the fauna and the flora). The nautical base is also equipped with changing rooms, showers, toilets under the shade of the coconut palms and overlooking the Marina. During the excursion, the instructors have a waterproof camera to take pictures of you on the boat and during the walking tour.
