Diagoras Airport is located 16km southwest of Rhodes Town.

Olympic Air connects the island with Athens and destinations throughout Greece, including several Dodecanese islands.

Sky Express flies up to six days a week to Heraklion on Crete (€80, one hour) and once weekly to Samos (€72, 45 minutes).

Two inter-island ferry companies operate from Rhodes Old Town: Dodekanisos Seaways sails from Kolona harbour immediately beyond the walls, runs daily high-speed catamarans north up the chain of the Dodecanese; while Blue Star Ferries, operating from the Commercial Harbour, a five minute taxi from the Old Town, provides slower and less frequent services to several of the same islands, continuing west to Astypalea and Piraeus. It also heads southwest to Karpathos, Kasos and Crete, and east to Kastellorizo. Tickets are available at the dock and from travel agents in Rhodes Town.

In addition, daily excursion boats head to Symi from Mandraki Harbour in summer (€25).
