Two inter-island companies operate from Rhodes Old Town. Dodekanisos Seaways sails from Kolona Harbour immediately beyond the walls, with daily high-speed catamarans running north up the chain of the Dodecanese. Blue Star Ferries, operating from the Commercial Harbour, a five-minute taxi from the Old Town, provides slower and less frequent services to several of the same islands, continuing west to Astypalea and Piraeus. It also heads southwest to Karpathos, and east to Kastellorizo. Anek Lines (www.anek.gr) runs to Kasos and Crete. Tickets are available at the dock and from travel agents in Rhodes Town.
In addition, daily excursion boats head to Symi from Mandraki Harbour in summer (around €20).
