Ten minutes' walk north of Merihas lies the pretty sandy cove of Martinakia. Half an hour further north is Episkopi, a wide swath of grey sand. Reachable via an hour's coastal walk (or via paved road) further northwest is the golden-sand Apokrousi, with two tavernas and a beach bar. From Apokrousi, a rutted road leads over the hill to the exquisite double-bay of Kolona, a sand spit joining the peninsula to the Aylos Loukas islet, with a high-season cafe above the beach. It's easiest to reach Kolona via sea-taxi from Merihas, or else by ATV or a hot 20-minute walk.

From Dryopida, the main road runs all the way south to Agios Dimitrios, a grey-sand beach with placid waters. Of the half-dozen east-coast beaches, mostly reachable by unpaved minor roads, the most accessible (and loveliest) is the sandy cove next to Kanala village.
