Built as a residence for Iraklio's power players in the 1930s, this hulking harbour-front landmark became a hotel in 2003. It sports all the expected mod-cons of a traditional five-star property, including luxury mattresses, fine bath amenities and blackout drapes. Unwinding stations include a gym, a glass-sided pool and a panoramic rooftop restaurant and bar.
The elegantly furnished guest rooms have a luxury bathroom with toiletries. Many feature a balcony with views over the Venetian port and the sea. All rooms are air conditioned and have high-speed internet access, a satellite TV and minibar.
Serving an American buffet breakfast, the cafe is also open for lunch and dinner. The top-floor Megaron 5th Bar Restaurant offers Cretan and Mediterranean cuisine and views of the harbour. Outdoor dining is available during the summer on the rooftop.
Located on the hotel’s 4th floor, the Health Club includes a sauna, hammam, hot tub and a gym. The rooftop plunge pool offers sea views.
GDM Megaron is located in the heart of Heraklion's business and shopping district, within walking distance of the Archaeological and the Historical Museum. Heraklion Port and International Airport are within 2 km of the hotel.
