Hania in detail

Getting Around

Hania town is best navigated on foot, since most of it is pedestrianised.

Bus

Local buses are operated by Chania Urban Buses. Zone A/B tickets cost €1.20/1.70 if bought from a kiosk or vending machine and €2/2.50 from the driver.

A handily central stop for Souda port, Halepa, Nea Hora and other local destinations is on Giannari, near the agora (market hall).

Car & Motorcycle

Major car-hire outlets, including Europrent, are at the airport and you'll find outlets on Halidon in the old town, including recommendable Kriti Plus. There’s free parking just west of Firkas Fortress and along the waterfront towards Nea Hora beach, or by the eastern edge of the harbour off Kyprou, but avoid areas marked residents only.
