Folegandros in detail

Apart from walking and beach-hopping, you can also descend beneath the water with Sea U Dive Centre or go on gastronomic rambles with Local Path.

Folegandros is popular with walkers and there are six main, signposted walking trails. These include:

  • #1: Hora to Agios Nikolaos beach via Angali (4.5km, 1½ hours one way) A descent through the countryside followed by coastal ramble.
  • #3: Ano Meria to Agios Georgios (2.6km, 1¼ hours) Gorgeous descent along a cobbled path from the north end of the village to the seaside chapel.
  • #5: Ano Meria to Livadaki beach (5.7km, 2¼ hours) Loop hike that starts near the windmills in Ano Meria, descends to the beach and climbs steeply through the countryside to the north end of the village.
  • #6: Hora to Katergo beach (6.4km, 2½ hours) Relatively demanding trail that passes by Folegandros' highest peak and Petousis village before descending steeply to the beach.
