Corfu's distinctive blend of historical influences means you can find traditional Greek food here, plus the likes of Italian risotto and pizza. The island's cuisine is solid, but this is by no means Greece's gourmet paradise.

Corfiot dishes, considered 'spicy' by mainlander Greeks, include sofrito (a local meat stew), pastitsada (stewed meat with a rich paprika-spiked tomato sauce) and tsigareli (cabbage or wild greens in a spicy tomato-based sauce).
