Athens in detail

Arriving in Destination

Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport Single-terminal and easy to navigate. Metro runs every 30 minutes to the centre; taxis are available for a flat rate; an express bus offers a budget alternative.

Port of Piraeus The very large port can be chaotic; look for in-port shuttle to metro station. In summer, an express bus connects the cruise-ship port to the centre.

Larisis Station A short walk northwest of the centre, with an external transfer to the metro.

Kifissos (Terminal A) and Liossion (Terminal B) bus stations Small but somewhat disorganised places to arrive. Use Google Maps for various public transit options to the centre; at night, taxis are the best option.
