The island’s port is Agios Nikolaos. From here, the main village, Hora, is a 10-minute bus ride (€2) up a winding road, or a 2km hike up a less winding but steep walkway. Between May and September, free buses run from the bus stop, arriving at the port one hour before scheduled boat departures. Three buses daily run down to the port at 11am, 2pm and 6pm, departing from Hora for the monastery 10 minutes later and returning from the monastery at 11.25am, 2.25pm and 6.25pm (€3).
Summertime caïques serve various beaches and nearby small islands (price depends on distance and number of passengers).
In Hora, Manos hires cars, scooters and four-wheelers for rent; some lodgings do so also.
