Day trip from Frankfurt to Würzburg/ Romantic Road Würzburg, alongsite the Main river, is watched over by its prominent landmark, Fortress Marienberg. The city`s spectacular highlight is the Baroque Residence Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring the world`s largest ceiling fresco by the Venetian painter Tiepolo. Even Hollywood was impressed by its splendor: parts of the Blockbuster movie: "The Three Musketeers" were filmed here. Guided tours in English are available every day.
The Coach leaves the bus station in Frankfurt (next to the main station) every morning at 8:00 am, from areas A and A1 - A3; they return at 8:30 pm, so that there is a sufficient time available in Würzburg for individual sightseeing and free time. The coach goes directly from Frankfurt to Würzburg, via Aschaffenburg and Wertheim Village and arrives at the Würzburg Residence at 09:40 am. Departure from the Residence in Würzburg back to Frankfurt is at 18:50 pm. Würzburg at the river Main The warm evening light illuminates the roofs, turrets and domes; the Prince-Bishop’s Residence glows with a deep yellow; the gentle hills of the Franconian wine region are a lush green.
