Embedded in vineyards, Weikersheim is distinguished by a splendid Renaissance palace surrounded by magnificent gardens a`la Versailles. Unique are the fully preserved interior furnishings, which date back to the 16th to 18th centuries. Also unique in terms of buildings, the ´Kornbau´(granary), which houses the Tauberland Village Museum, the Gothic parish chuch and the Rococo fountain. Weikersheim has an excellent network of hiking and cycling trails.
The bus leaves the bus station in Frankfurt (next to the main station) every morning at 8:00 am from areas A and A1 - A3; it returns at 8:30 pm, you have 30 minutes to take pictures at the Residenc in Würzburg. At 10. 10 am we continue to Weikersheim. You reach Weikersheim at 11. 15am. There you have enough time for individual sightseeing and leisure activities. The bus runs directly from Frankfurt via Aschaffenburg, Wertheim Village and Würzburg to Bad Mergentheim and from there directly to Weikersheim. Return to Frankfurt at 17:45. When they hear the cue, 60 girls and boys start playing their instruments devotedly. Charpentier, Händel - later, at the closing concert of their violin-cello camp, everything needs to be perfect. The guard house in the gardens of the palace, where the music academy has its base, is a wonderful place. Gardens reminiscent of Versailles spread out in front of the building, and the magnificent Renaissance palace with its almost complete interior furnishings is close nearby. The palace gate gives directly onto the market square with its historic buildings, the Baroque town hall, and a wealth of cafés and restaurants, where all our impressions can be processed in a relaxed environment.
