Located next to Volkswagen's Wolfsburg factory, Autostadt is one of Germany's top tourist attractions – and home to plenty of classic cars. With over two million visitors a year, the Autostadt is more than just a car museum. Volkswagen opened this attraction to share with the world the stages of car production at one of their factories.
Visit: Autostadt, Wolfsburg, Lower SaxonyThe 8 pavilions lie in the center of the park: Volkswagen and Audi to the north, further south are SEAT, Škoda, Lamborghini and the Premium Clubhouse. The Porsche pavilion constructed adjacent to the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles pavilion, right next to the lagoon. The striking Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles pavilion is in the South-East of the park. The Collection of "Automobile Milestones" in the Zeithaus is also included and presents classic cars within a contemporary artwork. The unique vehicles on display, are contextualized by using historical images and information which is embedded in the surfaces of the stages-like platforms. Today, the made-to-order factory town of Wolfsburg has grown into a city of 123,000, an automotive theme park that has attracted more than10 million visitors since its opening on June 1, 2000.
