Wiesbaden in detail

City Centre

Wiesbaden’s walkable city centre is 1km north (along Bahnhofstrasse) from the Hauptbahnhof.

A good place to start exploring Wiesbaden is the Schlossplatz, home to several monuments and landmarks including the neoclassical Stadtschloss (1840), built for Duke Wilhelm von Nassau and now home of the Hessischer Landtag (Hessian state parliament).

About 2km northwest of the centre, the Neroberg is a 245m-high hill, accessible by the Nerobergbahn funicular (linked to the Hauptbahnhof by bus 1). Neroberg is home to one of the oldest vineyards in the area and an outdoor swimming complex, Opelbad.
