Getting Around

Trains serve the major towns and most villages, with buses taking over in the far-flung corners of the Black Forest, where you'd be well advised to get your own wheels (either car or bike).

A sound investment if you are planning on covering a considerable distance in a day is the good-value Baden-Württemberg Ticket (€24), which may work out cheaper than individual journeys. It's available at all train stations and online (www.bahn.de).
