Hanover Airport has many connections, including Lufthansa (www.lufthansa.com) to/from London Heathrow; Eurowings (www.eurowings.com) to/from the UK, Amsterdam and many other destinations; and TuiFly (www.tuifly.com) to/from Moscow, as well as many holiday destinations. The S-Bahn (S5) takes 18 minutes from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof (€3).

Nearby autobahns run to Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin, with good connections to Bremen, Cologne, Amsterdam and Brussels. Two major car rental firms have prominent desks in the Hauptbahnhof.




Hanover is a major rail hub for European and national services, with frequent ICE trains to/from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (€48, 1¼ hours), Bremen (€35, one hour), Munich (€138, 4¼ hours), Cologne (€75, 2¾ hours) and Berlin (€72, 1¾ hours), among others. Left-luggage lockers are accessible 24 hours.
