Güstrow has been beautifully restored and you can spend a couple of good hours just wandering the cobblestoned streets of the old town. Be sure to check out the fountain with an imposing statue of Prince Heinrich Borwin II, who founded the town in 1228. It is at the crux of the both ancient and modern commercial street, Pferdemarkt (horse market).

A bike is a good way to explore the various Barlach sights.
