Dresden International Airport

Dresden International Airport has flights to many German cities and international destinations including Amsterdam, Zurich, Dubai and Moscow.

Transport Options

Dresden airport is about 9km north of the city centre. The S2 train links the airport with the city centre several times hourly (€2.30, 20 minutes). Taxis are about €20.


Dresden is connected to Chemnitz in the west and Poland in the east via the A4, to Leipzig via the A14, to Berlin via the A13/A113, and to Saxon Switzerland and the Czech Republic via the B172 south. All major international car rental companies have outlets at the airport.


Fast trains make the trip to Dresden from Berlin-Hauptbahnhof in two hours (€40) and Leipzig in 1¼ hours (€19.90). The S1 local train runs half-hourly to Meissen (€6.20, 40 minutes) and Bad Schandau in Saxon Switzerland (€6.20, 45 minutes). RE trains connect Dresden with Chemnitz (€16, one hour) via Freiberg (€9.70, 30 to 45 minutes).
