Just 165 km from Berlin lies the beautiful city of Dresden, capital of Saxony. The city is also referred to as the 'Florence of the Elbe', for its resemblance to the beautiful Italian city and its location on the banks of the Elbe. Upon arrival, enjoy a 1.5-hour walking tour of the city and stroll along the King August the Strong Bridge and enjoy its famous views, visit its beautiful Catholic Cathedral, Zwinger Gardens, Frauenkirche Church and the Semperoper building, the most prestigious opera house in Germany. Learn about the historical details and consequences of the sadly famous bombardment of allies during World War II, communist repression, and the post-war revitalization.
