Come join us on an eye-opening walk around the heart of old imperial Berlin. This walking tour is one of our favourites because we cover a bit of everything, from medieval warlords to the sophistication of Frederick the Great, from the rise of the Nazis to the Berlin Wall. Along the way, you see some of the greatest sites in the city and listen as these places tell you stories that remain relevant today. You'll hear stories of immigration, stories of warfare and authoritarianism, stories of high culture and civilization. You'll come away from this tour with a much deeper understanding not only of Berlin but northern Europe.Duration: 4 hours (10:00 - 14:00)Meeting point: Alexanderplatz station (S-Bahn/U-Bahn), outside Starbucks under the TV Tower at Panoramastraße 1A
You start at Alexanderplatz, visit three big city squares, the legendary Berlin hofs, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag and the site of Hitler's bunker are among our stops. It is a walking tour and we are not using public transport, so be prepared and remember to take water / sun glasses / sun screen / hat/cap / umbrella / warm clothing – whatever you need depending on the weather. The tour is run regardless of the weather. As the German saying goes, 'There is no bad weather, there is only bad clothing.' There will be a short break for tea/coffee (paid extra) in the middle of the tour.
