Information from Viator
Visit the memorial just outside of Berlin that was the model Nazi concentration camp. Our small groups make for a very personalized and powerful tour of the Sachsenhausen complex. We are the only non-profit tour company conducting regularly scheduled public tours to the memorial, so you can be assured 100% of all profits go to the memorial and our causes. Your tour leaves very centrally from Alexanderplatz in Berlin and is led by our certified guide.
Meet your guide just outside the main entrance of the TV Tower in Alexanderplatz. From there we take the public train to Oranienburg and walk to the nearby Sachsenhausen. On the tour you'll see the main entry area, Tower "A" with the infamous sign "Arbeit Macht Frei". From there we'll visit the roll-call area, the Jewish Barracks, and the former prison before visiting Station Z, which housed the camp's gas chamber and crematorium. You will also explore the pathology and infirmary areas, the reinforced perimeter fences and towers, as well as see how the Soviets further used the camp after defeating the Nazis. You'll have plenty of time to ask questions and take photos. This tour will leave a powerful impression on all that visit.
