Curious about German history but also interested in having some excellent local beer and regional specialties? Then our German Food & Craft Beer Shore Excursion from the Warnemünde and Rostock Port is for you!  On this tour we have created the perfect balance between experiencing the amazing history of Berlin while at the same time allowing you to discover the finest German beer and food in the capital. It’s the best of both worlds!  This shore excursion is adjusted to each ship’s docking times and starts promptly after your vessel’s arrival, returning with plenty of time to spare before its departure. Our expert team has been organizing these tours for nearly a decade. We have never missed a cruise ship’s departure and imparted our knowledge and enthusiasm for our unique and beautiful city to thousands of satisfied passengers!

You can choose between a private and a semi-private tour. The private tour includes a private vehicle just for your group for the entire duration of 12 hours and a private tour guide in Berlin for 6 hours. The semi-private tour includes shared bus transportation to Berlin and back, but whilst in Berlin you will have your own private vehicle, driver and tour guide for the entire duration of the tour (approximately 5-6 hours).Your time in Berlin will be spent the exact same way whether you choose the private or semi-private tour. The tour here begins at Potsdamer Platz in the architecturally magnificent Sony Center. You will meet your guide and be given an introduction to the city while getting your first taste of German beer at the Lindenbräu Brewery. Next up is a chance to see the original Berlin Wall as well as the Topography of Terror. Another highlight of historical part of the tour is the famous Cold War crossing point known as Checkpoint Charlie, where you will also be introduced to the Currywurst, a Berlin sausage specialty. You will have a chance to sample Berlin’s contribution to the German cuisine at the nearby Currywurst Museum. Our next destination is one of the city’s most beautiful squares - Gendarmenmarkt. At the famous Rauch Chocolatier you will be treated to their legendary hot chocolate and have an exquisite piece of cake to accompany it. The Rausch family first opened their shop in Berlin in 1918 and have since become world-famous for their amazing sculptures of city’s main landmarks made out of hundreds of pounds of solid chocolate. The tour then continues on to Bebel Platz and afterwards to a Memorial at the former Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  A few hundred meters away is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known today as Museum Island. It is comprised of five of the capital’s most famous museums: the New Museum, the Old Museum, the Old National Gallery, the Pergamon and the Bode Museum. After exploring the classic heart of Berlin we will stop at the Lemke Brewery for lunch and another sampling of German beers. Here you will enjoy a tasting of traditional German sausages and cheese as well as a sampling of six different locally brewed beers. The next stop will be the East Side Gallery, the most famous remaining stretch of the Berlin Wall.  Artists from around the world have turned this section of the Wall into the “world’s longest open-air art gallery”. Afterwards we visit Kreuzberg, a district in West Berlin the former American sector. Here we will explore one of Berlin’s traditional market halls known as ‘Markthalle 9’.  This former marketplace has been turned into a food court with some of the best food trucks and drinks the city has to offer. We will taste the famous pulled pork sandwich from Big Stuff Smoked Meats as well as have one last beer in one of the hippest new spots in the city before getting back on your vehicle to return to your ship.
