Tbilisi in Two Days
On day one begin with brunch at fabulous Lolita, then take a wander down Rustavelis gamziri, where you'll find dozens of sights including the National Gallery and the Parliament Building. Continue to Freedom Sq (Tavisuplebis moedani), where you can have lunch at Machakhela-Samikitno before plunging into the narrow streets of the Old Town afterwards. Be sure not to miss Sioni Cathedral, Meidan and Metekhi Church, and then head into Rike Park to take the cable car up to Narikala Fortress. Walk along the ridge to Kartlis Deda before heading back into the Old Town through the Botanical Gardens. At night, have dinner at Culinarium Khasheria before exploring some Old Town wine bars.
Begin day two in Vake with breakfast at Kikliko, then wander down Chavchavadzis gamziri and take in the sights and shopping of Vere, wandering up through the back streets to the funicular, from where you travel in minutes to the roof of Tbilisi at Mtatsminda Park, with its huge funfair and multiple cafes. Coming back down for lunch at Klike's Khinkali, spend the afternoon at the Georgian National Museum and then take a sulphur bath at Abanotubani. For dinner make reservations a few days in advance at Keto and Kote.
