Half-board rates include breakfast and dinner; many places can also provide lunch boxes for your next day's hiking, as well as room-only arrangements, adjusting prices accordingly.

Svan Food

Svans eat many of the same dishes as other Georgians, but have their own specialities too. Typical dishes include kubdari meat pies, chvishdari (cheese cooked inside maize bread) and tashmujabi (mashed potatoes with cheese). The renowned 'Svaneti salt' is a blend of herbs, pepper and garlic frequently used to flavour meat dishes and makes a popular souvenir from the region.
