Flights & getting there
A 20-seat marshrutka to Shatili (20 GEL, six to seven hours) leaves Tbilisi's Didube bus station (same area as the Stepantsminda marshrutky) at 9am Wednesday and Saturday, returning from Shatili at noon Thursday and Sunday from about June to October. There's also a bus from Didube to Barisakho (5 GEL, three hours) at 4pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
A minivan from Tbilisi to Shatili for up to seven people normally costs 350 GEL for a return trip, stopping for one night. Shatili taxi driver Niko Chincharauli charges 200 GEL one-way to Barisakho, 250 GEL to Roshka and 300 GEL to Tbilisi.
