The full day trip to Kakheti starts at 9am from your hotel or apartments.
While driving out of Tbilisi you can see the less knows Eastern part of the city that soon will change into the green scenery of Kakheti. Our first stop is at a big wine factory, that produces some of Georgias most famous wines like Kindzmarauli or Saperavi. You can visit the production area and taste some of their wines directly from steel tanks.
After the first tour we will proceed with our sightseeing and cultural part of the tour visiting a village of traditional cheese and bread makers, where you can taste some of their products, that make a perfect match to the local wine.
Our next stop is a small boutique winery that produces only organic traditional Amber and Red wines. Here we will have a wine tasting and a lunch while enjoying the view over picturesque Signagi.
After having a short stop at the legendary Bodbe convent, we proceed our way to a small village, where a local family of winemakers restored an ancient wine cellar and extended it by a lovely ethnographic museum of wine related objects and local artifacts.
Our last wine stop will be the great tunnel of Khareba winery in Kvareli. Built into a massif of Caucasian mountain range, it extends over 7km. The road for tourists is much shorter though, so you won´t be too tired. After you have tasted some of the selected Khareba wines and their famous winegrape seed oil in the middle of the tunnel, we invite you to see one more iconic sight of Kakheti region - the medieval Gremi fort.
From here the road leads through a beautiful Gombori mountain range, that offers best views at the sunset.
Day 1: Transfer to hotel and then Tbilisi sightseeing tour. City tour in Tbilisi - A tour in the old town of Tbilisi suggests visitors an introductory to Georgian culture and history. Overnight in Tbilisi Day 2: Tbilisi-Telavi-Nafareuli-Gremi-Kvareli Depart for Kakheti which is well-known wine making region with outstanding cultural heritage. Visit Qvevri Wine Museum and Winery Khareba. Explore historical architectural complex such as “Batonis Tsikhe” ( a Fortress of Master) in Telavi, Ikalto monastery, Alaverdi Cathedral and Gremi complex. Overnight in Kvareli. Day 3: Kvareli-Signagi-David Gareja-Tbilisi Continue the trip into the Kakheti and visit Signagi, also known as a city of love. Here you can walk on some parts of the largest defensive walls in Georgia (4 km long), narrow streets with 19th c old houses with wooden balconies. Then depart for David Gareja monastery complex and visit the medieval age cave complex. Overnight in Tbilisi. Day 4: Tbilisi-Mtskheta-Kazbegi Travel to the ancient capital of Georgia Mtskheta. Walk in the old streets of the town and visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Svetitskhoveli and Jvari Monastery. Then depart for Ananuri. In the evening arrive in Kazbegi town and visit the stunning Gergeti Trinity church. Overnight in Kazbegi. Day 5: Kazbegi – Gori-Uplistsikhe-Kutaisi Take a tour to Gori, a birthplace of the Soviet Dictator Joseph Stalin and visit the Stalin Museum. Then depart for Uplistsikhe, a Fortress of the Lord, which is a cave town carved in the 1 millennia BC. After it, travel to the Western Georgia and visit its main city – Kutaisi. Overnight in Kutaisi. Day 6: Kutaisi-Gelati-Okatse-Martvili-Kutaisi Visit the Bagrati Cathedral (11th c) and Gelati monastery complex (12th), which are the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Then depart for Okatse canyon and Martvili Canyon and take a boat tour into the canyon. Overnight in Kutaisi. Day 7: Kutaisi-Borjomi-Rabati-Vardzia Travel to eastern Georgia and visit Borjomi, a town famous of its mineral waters. Then visit Rabati castle complex, located in the region of Samtskhe-Javakheti. Then depart for Vardzia and explore its cave monastery complex which was cut off in 12th centuries and now includes more than 600 caves. Overnight in Vardzia Day 8: Vardzia-Foka-Tbilisi Travel back to Tbilisi. On the way, explore Javakheti nature. Stop at the largest lake – Paravani and visit the Foka convent. Arrival in Tbilisi and Transfer to the Airport
At 09:00, depart from Tbilisi towards the Kakheti region of Georgia, the cradle of Georgian wine. Beautiful road to Kakheti lies through Gombori pass (2 h, 100 km).
Our first stop will be in Telavi, the administrative and historic center of the region. Short stop at the monument to Erekli II.
Continue to Schuchmann Château in Kisikhevi village. Explore wine production facilities and have traditional lunch accompanied with finest wines produced from famous Georgian grape varieties: Saperavi, Mtsvane, and Kisi. Drive to Gremi architectural complex, 16th century royal residence and the capital of Kakheti Kingdom.
Gloomy and monumental, the Gremi castle is one of the most visited tourist points in Georgia.
Final stop for today is a private winery «Twins Wine Cellar» in Napareuli village. The premises of the winery include vast vineyard, museum of traditional Georgian winemaking in qvevri, and facilities for various workshops. Try yourself at baking Georgian bread puri, cooking national dessert churchkhela, harvesting and squeezing grapes for wine (subject to seasonality). An excellent round-up of the tour will be tasting five different wines produced at Twins Winery according to Georgian traditional technology of winemaking in qvevri.

In Bodbe you can visit Bodbe monastery. Bodbe Monastery is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex and the seat of the Bishops of Bodbe located 2 km from the town of Sighnaghi, Kakheti, Georgia. Originally built in the 9th century, it has been significantly remodelled, especially in the 17th century. The monastery now functions as a nunnery and is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th-century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are shrined there. Gremi is a 16th-century architectural monument – the royal citadel and the Church of the Archangels – in Kakheti, The complex is what has survived from the once flourishing town of Gremi and is located southwest of the present-day village of the same name in the Kvareli district , it was the capital of the Kingdom of Kakheti in the 16th and 17th centuries. Founded by Levan of Kakheti . Nekresi is a historic town in Kakheti, Georgia, in modern-day Kvareli Municipality, near the village of Shilda. The town was established by king Pharnajom(around 2nd-1st centuries BC). In the 4th century AD, king Thrdat built a church in this place. This church became a refuge to one of the Assyrian fathers, Abibus, in the late 6th century. Around this time Diocese of Nekresi was established, which existed until the 19th century. Tsinandali Palace - tour in Aleksandre Chavchavadze Museum, Walking in residence's very beautiful Garden. Wine tasting were Georgian wine brand "Tsinandali" are being produced. you can taste the wine Tsinandali at Museum's cellar. Chavchavadze constructed a new Italianate palace and built a decorative garden in 1835. It was the place where Chavchavadze frequently entertained foreign guests with music, wit, and – most especially – the fine vintages made at his estate winery (marani). Familiar with European ways, Chavchavadze built Georgia’s oldest and largest winery where he combined European and centuries-long Georgian winemaking traditions.

Visit the Pheasant’s Tears winery in Sighnaghi where yоu will taste artisanal wines prоduced accоrding tо Geоrgian traditiоns. If time allоws visit Bоdbe cоnvent. The legend says it is a burial place оf St. Ninо, whо cоnverted Geоrgia tо Christianity in the 4th century.
