Most dives take place in or around Tikehau’s only pass, about 30 minutes by boat from Tuherahera village. Depending on the current, at least three different dives can be done here, and they never disappoint. When the tide is incoming, grey sharks, silvertips, barracudas, trevallies and the usual reef species regularly cruise by.

With an outgoing current, you can dive the southern exit of the pass at a place named La Bouée (The Buoy) or the northern exit at Teonai, which both feature prolific fish life and lovely coral formations.
