Getting There & Away
There’s less than 20km of blue Pacific between Tahiti and Mo’orea, and getting from one island to the other is simplicity itself.
The coastal road is about 60km. Getting around Mo’orea without a car or scooter is not that easy. Distances aren’t great but are often a bit too far to walk. Bear in mind that many of the restaurants will pick you up for free or for a nominal fee if you call them. Hitching is never entirely safe, but if you use good judgment, it can be a decent way to get around Mo’orea – watch out particularly for drunk drivers.
