Hello all
I'm hoping someone with recent experience can help with this. I have a currently French registered - originally UK registered - RHD car at our home in France. As we are selling said home, I would like to give the car to my daughter who lives in the UK. I thought (but don't know, which is why I'm asking) it might be easier to transfer i.e. 'céder' the car to her before taking it back to the UK to have it re-registered as a UK car in her name. I understand that sales and transfer of…

We will be arriving in Calais via the Channel Tunnel in July. Since we'll be arriving in the evening around 9 pm and heading towards Rouen the following day, we want to find a budget hotel not far off our route, less than an hour's drive from the Tunnel terminal. We would prefer to avoid soul-less chain hotels on the autoroute(e.g. Formule1) and choose somewhere simple but more individual in a small town or village where we can also find a restaurant for dinner. Any recommendations, based on…

Hi, I'll be in Lyon for a week, and I plan to travel back and forth to some of the wine villages along the Northern Rhone. I originally assumed there are local trains that make that route, and you can jump on and off as needed. Upon a bit of further research I read that some towns aren't on the train line and require local buses to make up the last mile (Ampuis for example, you go to Vienne then take a local bus which only runs every 4 hours is what I read). And some of the buses only run a…

Can anyone give me an estimate of what it would cost to unlock a US cell phone (old flip phone) in the Marseille/Aix region? My only frames of reference are US costs (around $50) and Thailand (about $5).

Thanks!

Hello, I've been searching hotels from June 10 to 17 in Paris, and realized the fares are so high than I expected.
Is there any event during that time which makes room charges more expensive?

Thank you!

I'm visiting the Jura region in June, primarily for the wine. I'm just wondering which town to stay in as a base. I know all the towns are pretty close together, just wondering if there any opinions on a home base. Lons-le-Saunier looks like a bigger town, but Arbois is the home of one of the important appellations. Thanks

My mom is going to France for 3 months this summer and am not sure of the best phone option for her. She has an iPhone 4 (or maybe 5). We use iChat for family communication. She has What's App but not sure she can Skype using that phone. I am trying to convince her to get a local phone, so she can reach friends she's staying with in France and use local SMS. Am mostly concerned about her getting lost or missing a bus and then not knowing what to do. I doubt she will need to make international…

Carcassonne has a fairy-tale castle complex and some pretty mean food. But you need to stay somewhere... so avoid Bristol Hotel.Located near the station, this hotel has a resident ant population large enough to keep a full-time Nat'l Geographic team busy for a while.I left an open box of ( very expensive) chocolates and some (equally expensive) cookies on the table in my room. When I got back they were black with ants all over. Not sure what to do, I tried to take it all to the bathroom to wash…

We will be in Corsica with a rental car from June 6 to about June 18. We have already booked the Marseille to Corsica (L'll Rousse) one way; should we lock in by buying a return ticket now or wait till we are in Corsica so as to be more flexible in choosing the place and time of our return trip?
