Getting There & Away
You'll need your own transport (a car or bike) to visit most of the Somme battlefields and memorials. Bicycles can be rented at the tourist office in Albert (standard bike half-/full day €8/12, electric bike €15/25).
Villers-Bretonneux has rail services to/from Amiens (€4, 15 minutes, up to 10 daily). The train station is 600m southeast of the Musée Franco-Australien (take rue de Melbourne) and a walkable 3km south of the Australian National War Memorial (a round-trip taxi from Villers-Bretonneux costs around €25).
Albert is linked by train to Amiens (€7, 25 minutes, up to two per hour) and Arras (€8, 25 minutes, every two hours).
