That tour is designed for foodies who want to taste the best of our region and explore the local Mediterranean way of life. You will start the day with a visit of a local Market in the charming port town of Mèze by the lagoon of Thau. You will sample there all the typical products: fresh oysters, local cheeses, olives and tapenades, charcuteries and the speciality of Sète: la Tielle. You will then be hosted by your guide in his wine estate and enjoy your lunch bought at the market paired with his wines in front of the vineyards.
9.30am: meet you guide at the Esplanade de l’Europe in Montpellier. After a 30 min drive you will arrive in Mèze by the Thau lagoon. Visit this very charming little marina and learn all about the lagoon, its biodiversity and activity of oyster farming. You will then head to the local market with your guide who will bring you to selected stalls to sample what you need for lunch and discover the local products: oysters, cheeses, olives, charcuterie and the famous speciality of Sète, a seafood pie named « Tielle ». After your shopping your guide will bring you to his wine estate in the middle of the vineyard for a delicious simple lunch prepared with the ingredients bought at the market. Enjoy it paired with his wines in front of the vineyard...a true Mediterranean experience!Back to Montpellier around 3pm
