French in Val d’Isère

Perched halfway up Le Fornet’s Mangard blue run, this wood-and-stone chalet has wondrous views around the valley. And at this restaurant d'altitude (ie up on the slopes), the food matches the prospect: lamb saddle stuffed with olives, scallop and salmon linguini, wok-fried veggies and Sichuan-spiced duck. It's good value, and reservations are strongly recommended.
