Information from Viator
Avignon has kept its authentic "middle-ages" character and it's quite a trip back into time when you see some parts of it. We'll be doing a walk through history at the time when the popes had settled in this great city.
We'll walk to the most picturesque and typical narrow streets and views in Avignon only known by the locals. There shall be a lot of walking as most old historical streets are narrow, made of cobblestone and only accessible to pedestrians. Here most of the monuments date from the Middle-ages and were built during the reign of the different popes that lived in the Palais. You'll be going inside the Palace and walking on the Bridge (13. 50 euros admission per person for both monuments). Big parts of the inner city have kept their medieval spirit so don't forget your camera!
