Le Chardenoux

Bistro in Bastille & Eastern Paris

Dating from 1908, this picture-perfect Parisian bistro with a polished-timber façade, patterned tiled floors, marble-topped tables, mirrored walls, bevelled frosted-glass screens and a centrepiece zinc bar is a listed historic monument. Star chef Cyril Lignac recreates classical French dishes: Aubrac beef tartare and frites (fries), chicken in white wine, and brioche toast with poached pears and hazelnut caramel.

It's across the road from Lignac's combined chocolate boutique and tearoom La Chocolaterie Cyril Lignac, to the east, and from his bakery/pastry shop La Pâtisserie, to the south.
