Brasserie Bofinger

Brasserie in Le Marais, Ménilmontant & Belleville

Founded in 1864, Bofinger is reputedly Paris' oldest brasserie, though its polished art nouveau brass, glass and mirrors indicate redecoration a few decades later. Alsatian-inspired specialities include six kinds of choucroute (sauerkraut), along with oysters (€16.80 to €28.20 per half-dozen) and magnificent seafood platters (€30 to €90). Ask for a seat downstairs beneath the coupole (stained-glass dome).

Kids are catered for with a two-course children's menu (€14.50).
