It will include sixty major works—oils, pastels, drawings, and  engravings—, which will be complemented by various documentary material illustrating the artist’s life and career. Rarely  exhibited, the works will be brought together in this unprecedented exhibition. From 21 September 2018 to 28 January 2019, admire Caravaggio in Rome: friends and enemies.This exhibition, which is devoted to Caravaggio (1571–1610), a leading figure of seventeenth-century Italian painting, will present around ten masterpieces by the artist, who only painted around fifty works during his career. Originating from the finest museums in Italy, these extraordinary canvases will retrace Caravaggio's career in Rome (1592–1606) until his exile.
