Descend into the Parisian underground with your expert guide and discover the mysterious world that sits beneath the city. With this exclusive skip-the-line access, you will learn the history behind the largest cemetery in Paris, see the bones of over six million people, and wind through corridors of these former quarries. You will also explore sections not open to the general public. This is one of the most difficult tickets to secure in Paris, so don't miss out on the opportunity to visit this site before it's too late!
Meeting outside of the entrance of the Catacombs, your guide will provide you with a headset and a brief explanation of the history of the Catacombs. We will then descend the 137 steps to begin the tour, which lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Throughout the duration of the tour, you will have the opportunity to take pictures and ask questions as your guide summarizes the Catacombs' onset, their transition into a modern cemetery, and their appeal today. At the exit, there are 87 steps, so unfortunately, this activity is not suitable for guests in wheelchairs. Please note that restrooms and coat checks are not available, and the temperature underground is typically 14°C/57°F. Anyone susceptible to claustrophobia or cardiac or respiratory weakness are strongly discouraged to visit the Catacombs. In addition, children are not advised to participate in this tour. Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure your skip-the-line access. We guarantee groups of 20 guests or less.
