Getting There & Away

  • Tram Thanks to the opening of the new east–west line 2 in 2019, the tram is now the easiest and fastest way to reach Le Port-Garibaldi from anywhere in Nice. Line 1 runs from Libération and Nice-Ville train station south through place Masséna, skirting the northern edge of Vieux Nice to reach place Garibaldi at the neighbourhood's northern edge. Line 2 runs east from Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport through the New Town, terminating at Le Port-Garibaldi's two brand-new underground stations, Garibaldi Le Château (under place Garibaldi) and Port Lympia (near the ferry docks).
  • Bus Numerous Lignes d'Azur buses serve the port area, including lines 7, 14, 20, 30 and 81.

Getting Around

In the summer months, you can cross the port for free with Lou Passagin, a traditional pointu fishing boat that's been converted into a ferry.
