You'll find plenty of eateries in the old town and on the main promenade.
Feature: Montélimar Nougat
Authentic Montélimar nougat consists of at least 28% almonds, 25% lavender honey, 2% pistachio nuts, sugar, egg white and vanilla. Texture varies, from dur (hard) to tendre (light and soft), as does honey strength and the crispness of the nuts. Some are coated in chocolate and others have fruit (try the one with figs), but traditional Montélimar nougat is simply off-white.
Factory tours are offered by numerous nougat producers; recommended small producers include Diane de Poytiers or L'Artisan Nougatier. The renowned Arnaud Soubeyran is a bigger outfit with an excellent on-site museum, restaurant and tearoom.
