Without an art gallery, souvenir shop or cafe in sight, the silence in Coaraze is deafening. The village’s main attractions are its six modern sundials, including one by Jean Cocteau. They don’t exactly draw crowds of tourists, so you can look forward to a quiet, contemplative wander in Coaraze's maze of 11th-century lanes.
The village's nid d’aigle (eagle’s nest) location is quite dramatic, and the surrounding area is well known for walking. The more energetic can opt for longer treks; Guides Randoxygène Rando (http://randoxygene.departement06.fr) is an excellent resource for hiking routes in the area.
