Getting Around


Funded by 65 Blois-area municipalities, Châteaux à Vélo maintains 400km of marked bike routes to and around Blois, Chambord, Cheverny and Chaumont-sur-Loire. Get route maps, a useful smartphone app and the latest weather reports from the website, or pick up brochures at local tourist offices.

Detours de Loire, part of a valley-wide bike-rental network, rents bikes a block from the train station.


The free, electric Navette de Centre-Ville (city-centre shuttle), run by Azalys (, circles the city centre four times an hour from 9am to 7.30pm Monday to Saturday (except holidays). Stops include the train station, the château and rue Denis Papin.

Royal Connection Transport to Chambord or Cheverny costs €25 per person (minimum two people); a circuit to two or three sites costs €40 to €59 per person. Reservations can be made via Blois' tourist office.


Just outside the city centre, all-day parking costs €5 in green parking zones. For free parking, head to the train-station area, quai du Foix (on the riverfront towards Pont Mitterrand) or quai St-Jean (next to the Police Nationale).
