Air

Aéroport Marseille-Provence is 25km southwest and served by regular shuttle buses (€8.20, 33 minutes, from 4.40am to 10.30pm).

Bus

Aix’ bus station is a 10-minute walk southwest from La Rotonde. Sunday services are limited.

Most of the following services are run by LER (www.info-ler.fr):

Avignon (LER line 23, €18, 1¼ hours, six daily)

Marseille (Cartreize line 50, €9, 40 minutes, every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday, fewer on Sunday)

Nice (line 20, €30, 2¼ hours, five daily Monday to Saturday, three on Sunday)

Toulon (line 19, €14, 1¼ hours, seven daily)

Train

The city centre train station, at the southern end of av Victor Hugo, serves Marseille (€8.30, 45 minutes).

Aix’ TGV station, 15km from the centre, is a stop on the high-speed Paris–Marseille line. Destinations include Avignon (from €13, 25 minutes, one or two per hour), Lyon (from €33, 1½ hours, around hourly) and Dijon (from €77, 3¼ hours, one or two daily).

Bus 40 runs from the TGV station to Aix’ bus station (€4.30, 15 minutes, every 15 minutes).

Note that the direct Eurostar that connects London, Lyon, Avignon and Marseille does not stop at Aix’ TGV station; to get to Aix, you have to change onto a connecting TGV at Lille or Paris.
