The Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire vineyards are located east of the city of Aix- en-Provence, between the Sainte-Victoire and the Aurelien's mountains. It's the country of Cézanne, the famous painter born in Aix-en-Provence.The poor and shallow soils, formed by limestone and clay sandstone, produce high-quality vineyards: tasty, full-bodied reds with excellent structure and subtle and elegant rosés.We will visit three authentic wineries , far away from touristic places. We will have lunch in the heart of vineyards, between vines and olive trees. Enjoying the surroundings, we will have a Petanque class, the traditional game of Provence!
After 30 min driving, we will arrive to the first winery in the village of Pourrieres. It's a family winery through 3 generations.
One member of the family will explain us the wine making process and share with us his passion. Then, we will go with him in his vineyards where we will have some explanations on the vines, the pruning, the biodynamic and organic culture...just before the tasting in this paradise of nature.
After the wine tasting, we will have lunch in the vineyard with the wine of the estate.
Then, you will discover the traditional game of Provence "la Pétanque" which is a game of ball. It's quite the same game than batchee ball played in USA.
In the afternoon, two more wineries will be visited and you will enjoy a wine tasting in each of them, at the foot of Sainte-Victoire mountain.
Amazing view to take some photos...
Than, your guide will drive you comfortably back to the meeting point.
